Word Work: Our class will learn words that follow the long o digraph syllable pattern
this week. Long o digraph syllable patterns use the following vowel teams oa, ow, and oe.
The following words are examples of this pattern throat, pillow, and foe. Students should
read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words and practice spelling words with similar
syllable patterns. Spelling City is ready for students to practice long a digraph word list.

Second Grade Music Program: This is the week and we are so excited for the performance.
Our 2nd grade music program which will be on November 21st at 6:00 p.m. There will also be an
afternoon performance during school on that same day at 3:00 p.m. Here is a note from Mrs. McElroy,
our music teacher. Please have your child come to his/her classroom at 5:45 p.m. while you find your
seat in the gym. One important note. If you hang onto your child's coat, there really is not a reason
for them to return to the classroom as their costume goes home with them. You can either pick them
up from the stage after the performance if you prefer. Otherwise we will head to
the room at the end of the show.. Thank you so much.
