    Homework: Read for 15 min and make sure your reading log is up to
date.

    D Day
    We have our Valentine's Day Party, art and gym.
    We do not have homework.  Remember to read this weekend.

Word Work:   Our class will be learning about the variant vowel /ou/ syllable patterns this week. Our syllable pattern makes the /ou/ sound in words down, found, and playground .    Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns. Spelling City is ready for students to access the practice list for the week.

WOW!!! Please remember that we ask you to keep your child home until they can be fever free without any medication for 24 hours. As of Friday, we had 11 children absent and a total of 13 that were sick in our room this week. There are some nasty bugs going around and I am incredibly thankful to everyone who is working to ensure their son or daughter is healthy before sending them to school.
Valentine’s Day Party: Our Valentine's Day Party will be on Friday, Feb 14th from 1:00-1:45. There will be 3 stations for the students; food/trivia, passing out Valentine's, and bingo. If you would like to help, there is a sign-up for the party on sign-up genius. Book Order Forms:  Forms for the February book order will come home on Tuesday.  I will be submitting the order next Tuesday, February 17th.  Please email me with any questions you may have.

Bead jar & pumpkin characters

The bead jar is filled.  In celebration, we will be taking advantage of popcorn day and adding a  pajama day, bring something soft like a stuffed animal, and a movie.  The movie is the Box Car  Children.  We just finished reading the book so we will have an opportunity to compare and  contrast how characters which goes along with our reading theme of character analysis.  I will  also have Capri Suns for the children.  Email me with any questions.  Thank you.                                                  Pumpkin character building is tomorrow from 10:30-11:30.  The children have drawn their  character and mapped out the supplies they need.  If you would like to come be a part of the fun  children creating with paper, glue, pins, and so much more, we would l...
