Star Of The Week Schedule

Below is the letter that your child will bring home during their week.  They will also bring home a poster and the estimation jar.

Star of the Week

Your child is the Star of the Week next week.  This is their special week where they are welcome to share about who they are each day of the week.   Below are some ideas about their week ahead, however if you or your child has an additional idea please let me know.

**The poster.  Please work with them to complete the pictures.  The pictures can be drawn, cut from magazines, or real photos.

**The Estimation Jar:  In the estimation jar, please put any item for the kids to guess and then count.  These items may be wrapped candy such as suckers, Tootsie Rolls or Starbursts.  You could also put in small toys like Legos, beads, or baseball cards. Please do not count the item with your child, as they will be estimating also. Finally, since we’ll be counting the items as a class, please keep the number under 200.

**Sharing:  During this week your child may bring in a sharing every day throughout the week to share with the class.  If they would like, they may also bring an animal or a sibling to share during this time. Please talk with me to arrange a best time.

**Reading:  Family members are invited to come in and read to the class this week.  Anyone is welcome.  We have had parents, grandparents, and siblings.   Just let me know what time would be best to do this.  Your child may also pick a book and read to the class if they would like.

**Birthday:  Your child may pick when they celebrate their birthday during the school year.  However, if your child's birthday or half birthday falls during this week please feel free to send in a treat to celebrate.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you!
